John Reader, OE distinquished author visits archive

Just before Christmas we were very happy for John Reader (OE ) to come back for a visit and tour of the archive.

John Reader

John has had an incredibly colourful career that started in printing and journalism, and after some travelling, free-lance writing and photography he has gone on to be a highly successful writer of a wide range of books, which loosely fall into the field of Physical Geography. He has also been involved in a number of high profile documentaries.

Some of his main works include "Cities" and "Africa: a Biography of the Continent". His latest book is released in February titled "The Potato in World History".

John very kindly donated a very large, signed, collection of his published work to the School Archive. This is now part of a collection we have been developing for a while now called "OEs in Print". It's growing fast, but relies on the generosity of authors (or OEs who know other OEs who are authors!).
