Bruce A Neale - England International Rugby Player

Last year Claude Scott very generously, on behalf of the OEA, donated an army cap belonging to the England international rugby player Bruce A. Neale (OE 1934 - 1940).

Neale is second from left back row, School 1st XV 1940.

Neale played for the Emanuel First XV in his school days and after leaving school spent many years in the army. He was involved in many major Service matches, the cap comes from one of these 1948 matches.

The highlight of his career was playing in 3 of the 4 Five Nation matches for England in season 1951/1952. We also have an original programme of the England-France game in which Neale played.
